2008! I'm enthusiastic!
With the New Year, things are getting busy again. Planning the semester, setting up the nursery, laying out comics, and, just for fun, letting men into the house and watching them tear up the only bathroom. It's busy, but I have a good feeling about '08. Feel free to laugh at me for that in a year's time.

Congratulations, Joel! You will be a great dad!

My #1 piece of advice to parents-to-be and parents of infants is to go out to eat and see movies as much as you can. I think Susan and I have done those things maybe half a dozen times in the past three years ;)

Thanks, Scythrop! I'm pretty thrilled. The Lovely Wife and I have been doing a pretty good job on the eating front, but we will have to put more effort into going and seeing movies.

Ha! I was kind of readying an awkward Don't You Know Who I Am comment, because I guess my LJ message of a few weeks ago got lost in the ether.

Things are good. I guess we haven't seen you since our L.A. days, but we left there for Santa Barbara nine years ago. (A blessed change of pace.) I work at the university, it's a stable and interesting job, and yes, William was a happy surprise just over three years ago. He is a very willful child. Sometimes he seem 14 or so.

My online profiles are littered with German extracts from '80s new wave. What? Doesn't everyone recall Der Kommissar lyrics or the fading moments of every Kate Bush track?

Anyway, glad we got that cleared up. Looking forward to more catching up!
